The Peatlands

The Peatlands is an immersive film which explores the wonders of the bog, its ecological treasures and extraordinary species.

The film describes our peatlands through the video of Charleen Hurtubise who is also the curator, the soundscapes of Lisa Dowling Scott, the photography of Tina Claffey, and the paintings of Kathrine Geoghegan. The film has been accompanied at various locations with the performances of Paola Catizone.

Starting its life as Landmarks, showing in the Pearse Museum, Rathfarnham, The Peatlands has shown at Castletown House in Celbridge during the summer of 2023 taking in Heritage Week, participated at the Earth Rising Festival at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in September 2023, shown at The Copper Tree Gallery at Birr Castle October to December 2023, and is currently at Dunamaise Arts Centre Portlaoise until early March.
